NAD/Brain Restoration Plus (BR+) is a comprehensive and natural detox and nutrient-based treatment. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a coenzyme found in all living cells and plays a crucial role in the chemical process that generates energy, especially in the brain.

The NAD/BR+ protocols help patients replenish their supply of neurotransmitters, improve cognitive functioning, withdraw from addictive substances, overcome anxiety, depression, chronic or acute stress, post-traumatic stress, CTE, and other conditions by giving the brain what it needs to return to proper functioning. These protocols are completely nutrient-based – not another drug to become addicted to or dependent upon. It is clear to see how important NAD is for the body as it is involved in every bodily function and catalyzes more than a thousand metabolic reactions in the organs and tissues.

NAD Brain Restoration (BR+) is a proprietary formula compounded by a state-of-the-art, FDA-regulated facility, that can only be found in a small number of medical offices in the world and requires special licensing and training. It is used both intravenously and as a nasal spray. Because of its role in energy production, NAD is also used for improving athletic endurance and combating fatigue.

Benefits of NAD/Brain Restoration Plus (BR+)

Clinical experience has shown that NAD BR+ may be used for a number of brain related issues, and that the benefits include:

  • Replenishes balance of neurotransmitters in the brain
  • Optimizes mitochondrial function in the brain
  • Improves mental clarity and cognitive function (focus and concentration)
  • Accelerates the recovery of psycho-emotional issues following treatment of chronic conditions
  • Helps the cells convert food into energy by acting as an electron transporter during cell metabolism
  • Support the activation of PARPs (Poly ADP ribose polymerase), which detect and repair damaged DNA
  • Increases activity of a group of enzymes called sirtuins, which helps increase metabolism, decrease inflammation, extend cell life, and prevent neurodegeneration
  • Activates cell signaling: research is revealing that NAD and ATP may alert the immune response when the cell is under stress or when there is inflammation

Here’s How it Works

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is an element that reacts with oxygen in the cell’s mitochondria in order to create energy for movement, breathing, heartbeat, blood pumping, digesting food, brain functions, and generally living life.

NAD enables the transfer of energy from the foods we eat to vital cell functions. It is also required to “turn off” genes that accelerate degenerative aging processes. As NAD+ levels decline, mitochondrial function is impaired, resulting in fewer mitochondria surviving. Mitochondria are the “powerhouses” that help ensure cellular processes. This vicious cycle of mitochondrial depletion (also called NAD Energy Deficiency, or NED) results in many of the physical symptoms of aging and degenerative processes, such as chronic fatigue syndrome, substance abuse, depression, stress, anxiety and various other chronic illnesses.

NAD Brain Restoration Therapy has the ability to provide the brain and body with NAD and a proprietary amino acid formula that reverses NAD and related dysfunctions. Through an intravenous infusion or via nasal spray, NAD BR+ has been shown to help the body produce ATP, protect and repair DNA, strengthen the immune system, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and stimulate the production of dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenaline, thereby improving mood.

Prominent universities have been investigating NAD+ as a potential therapy for age-related degenerative disease. Compelling research shows that NAD+ has a unique ability to protect tissues, induce DNA repair, and increase life span. Studies done in the early 1960s demonstrated the efficacy and safety of IV NAD in detoxifying patients from alcohol, opiates, tranquilizers, and stimulants. Current research also indicates that NAD deficiencies may trigger a host of metabolic and degenerative diseases – including obesity, Type II diabetes, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. When using NAD with the BR+ protocols for addiction or stress treatment, neurochemical imbalances can be restored to healthy functioning usually within ten days or less.

“My addiction patients have a mental clarity and focus after 10 days of NAD/BR+ treatment that I typically don’t see until three or four years after conventional detox treatment.”

As published in a 2014 paper, it is well known that NAD+ plays a key role in regulating metabolism and circadian rhythm through sirtuins, NAD+ becomes limiting during aging, affecting sirtuins’ activities, and supplementing key NAD+ intermediates can restore NAD+ levels and ameliorate age-associated pathophysiologies.

The emergence of knowledge recognizing the potent role of ADPR transferases as regulators of the lifespan of diverse organisms and their coupling to NAD+ metabolism has stimulated a current interest in the possibilities inherent to targeting NAD+ metabolism for therapeutic purposes. This review suggests that opportunities exist for the development of antimicrobials and anticancer drugs that inhibit the basic transformations of NAD+ metabolism. In addition, expanded use of agents such as nicotinamide and nicotinic acid in light of their beneficial characteristics in enhancing NAD+ levels in tissues deserves consideration.

NYCIM + NAD+ Brain Restoration Therapy

At the New York Center of Innovative Medicine, NAD+ therapy is one of many different treatments considered for each patient. However, the use of this therapy is only performed on patients after an in-depth initial evaluation reveals it would be necessary for your personalized program of treatment. Because each person is unique, and their health needs are different, there is no set protocol for using NAD+ IV, nasal and oral therapy nor is the patient able to request the use of this therapy if the medical team finds it would not be as helpful as another treatment or a specific combination of therapies. The ultimate goal is the complete restoration of health in the most efficient and safe manner, and with so many therapeutic options, it is impossible to know if NAD+ therapy is right for you without an initial evaluation at our clinic.
